The Cowal Peninsula. The scenery in the Cowal Peninsula is amongst the most beautiful in Scotland, and the area is home to the botanical gems of Benmore Gardens and Ardkinglas Estate, which has one of Britain's tallest trees. There are numerous scenic forest and hill walks, with spectacular views of the Argyllshire hills and Clyde coastline. For the naturalist, the area abounds with wildlife; roe deer, seals, red squirrels and many varieties of birds, including herons and hawks, can be seen on a regular basis. The quiet roads of Argyll make driving a relaxed and enjoyable experience. |
